What do you do as Student Assistant People & Culture?

As a Student Assistant in People & Culture I support my colleagues in whatever tasks they may have at hand. At the stage Cadeler is in now, and with the rapid speed at which we are growing and developing, this means I support on development projects and spend a large portion of my time working towards making Cadeler a greater place to work. My daily tasks vary a lot and could be anything from preparing presentations to various meetings such as board meetings, Townhall meetings and more, to coordinating interviews in ongoing recruitment processes. A large portion of my tasks involves talking to and offering sparring to people in the company and listening to the needs of both employees and managers in other departments.

What has been the most interesting thing about your job until now?

In my position it is essential to understand what goes on in the company to best support the needs of various departments and to best prioritize my time. It is important to know the people and understand the dynamics within the company. I believe this to be the most interesting part of the job as it really allows me to help guiding the organization in the direction we are aiming for from a ‘people’ standpoint.

One of the first tasks I had when I joined Cadeler was assisting in the establishment of a new goal setting framework. For me, this opportunity lined up perfectly with my studies. I had just undergone a course focusing on this topic and it allowed me to take some of those theoretical perspectives into consideration in the building of such a framework. It really pushed me to perform and contribute with the knowledge I have in the specific field.

What makes you feel proud?

I am proud of working in a company that appreciates its people and the value they bring to the organization, both professionally and personally. I am proud to be working alongside really talented colleagues who are experts in their field and together with them getting to work towards a higher goal.

Getting to contribute to Cadeler and thereby influencing the green transition and the push for renewable energy is an honor. It gives me a lot of meaning to be supporting a cause that is so essential to the future wellbeing of the planet and its people.

What is the best thing about working for Cadeler as a company?

The best part of working at Cadeler is the people I get to work with and the culture that exists. There is always a great atmosphere in the office, and we have fun at work.

What is the best thing about being a student assistant?

I appreciate the high degree of support and flexibility there is in the company. Everyone is eager to support one another and open to share knowledge and ideas across departments. Additionally, there is a lot of flexibility and respect surrounding my studies, especially in times of exams where I am given the needed flexibility to take care of my studies. I also really appreciate the flat hierarchy at Cadeler. As a student you have an opportunity to interact and collaborate with various people in the company whether it be technical experts or managers and even the senior management team. It is a place I can see myself developing new skills and experience.
